For the last fourteen years, I have been involved in competitive Irish dancing and I also attend the gym every second day. I adore Irish dancing. I dance every Wednesday and Sunday in class and I practice for an hour every day except Fridays. Fridays are my day off.
My favourite thing about Irish dancing is competing at feis’ such as the Dublin Championships, Leinster Championships e.t.c. I love attending feis’ because I get a spray tan; I spend over two hours perfecting my makeup to ensure I don’t look washed out on stage with the bright lights. I love wearing my Irish dancing dress which is orange, red, yellow and black and full of Swarovski crystals. I love wearing my Irish dancing dress because the crystals reflect the lights and it look amazing. I love being in dance class because I learn new steps and movements. I especially love learning new complex steps that involve kicking my legs up high. I love wearing my hard shoes especially because it creates beats and rhythm that is unbelievable to hear. I’ve always danced and I even do a summer camp in the summer for 6 hours a day for 5 days. I learn new techniques and practice my steps. I also go to the gym to improve my stamina and to strengthen my core and legs to allow me to hold myself in the air and walk on the tip of my toes. I love going to the gym and even swim at the gym and attend circuits and “core blasting” classes. I also walk to school and home from school every day] which takes me 30 minutes each way.

I have been dancing since I was four years old. I have danced in numerous performances and competitions. I have been to Pineapple Dance Studios in London twice. I was dancing and also was given the opportunity to teach. I was teaching children from the ages of three to five. I found this a bit difficult but also quite enjoyable. I love dancing very much. Ever since I was a young child I have always wanted to be a professional dancer and choreographer. I still have this dream and wish to continue doing what I love. I also enjoy walking my dog everyday.
Upon joining the Navy Seals every man or woman has to take their Physical Screening Test (PST).
Prospective trainees are expected to exceed the minimums. The minimum requirements are 500 yards (460 m) swim using breast or combat sidestroke in under 12:30 with a competitive time of 9:00 or less, at least 50 push-ups in 2 minutes with a competitive count of 90 or more, at least 50 sit-ups in 2 minutes with a competitive count of 90 or more, at least 10 pull-ups from a dead hang (no time limit) with a competitive count of 18 or more, run 1.5 mi (2.4 km) in running shorts and boots in under 10:30 with a competitive time of 9:30 or less. Conor and I joined up to the US Navy Seals yesterday. We thought it would be okay but we got woken up at 6:00AM for our PST (Physical Screening Test). After that we began our second screening test which would end up being more difficult than expected. We then started our basic underwater demolition training our first phase of training was physical conditioning which took 7 weeks and was very difficult. The second phase was combat diving which again, took seven weeks. The third and final phase was land warfare. This took 7 weeks. During our 21 weeks we learned a lot about underwater combat and land combat. We learned basic weapon training and how to de-assemble and assemble weapons. Overall, it was like hell but we got through it and nearly got dropped a couple times but the only unfortunate thing was that this was only the start of a lot more training and hopefully a few missions down the line. Hi my name is Ava. I started kickboxing when I was about 8 years old. Since then I have done six grades which means there is four more grades to black belt. After your third grade you have to start sparring to grade and you also have to do a kata. A kata is moves from your grade combined together. I have training twice a week on a Tuesday and a Friday. Throughout the year there is a lot of different competitions which you can enter. In the competitions there is two different types continuous and points fighting. In points you have to be quick and be the first one in to get a point. When a point is scored the referee tells you to stop and you separate. In continuous you keep going until the referee tells you to stop. Competitions are held on soft mats or in a ring if it’s a big fight.
Hi I am Sarah. I like sports. My favourite activity I do is scouts. Some people think scouts is for boys but you might be surprised how many girls do scouts. There is a few different stages before you get to scouts. This program is based on age. You start off at beavers which is ages 6 to 10. Then you go to cubs which is ages 10 to 12. Then there is scouts which is 12 to 15 then there is two more stages but I have only started scouts so I don’t know anything about them. In scouts there is multiple camps and trips. We mainly do camps on larch hill which is where scouting Ireland is set up. You need to have a neckercheive [a scarf that you were given from your group when you were invested] to get on to the mountain. We also do compatitons and the one for scouts this year is called shield .this competition is for all scout groups in Dublin. It is a very intense weekend for any competitors because you are marked on every skill in scouting. You are given a team to work with and you have to cook meals for your team, set up heavy tents, set a boundary around your site, build a gateway and set up fires. You also do something like this in cubs but it was less intense with less teams. I am hoping to get on to the team this year. When we are in the den we play games and learn how to build tripods with spars [thin logs] and sisal [rope]. We also learn how to use a knife and axe. We use these to cut sisal, cut logs for our fires and use to needed skill .We also how to do first aid and treat bad wounds like burns or cuts .we can also help anyone in pain or with a broken bone. Every now and then we hold an investiture night. This is when we gather all the scout, then we go up one by one [for the people not invested] and do an oath to help others around us and to do our best. This is why I like scouts
Before I moved to Ireland I was playing and training volley ball. I was walking every week. Training starts at 6 o’clock to 8 o’clock. Me and my friend made a school team. One day with my friends we get involved in beach volleyball.
